Re: GQ 35's Speedo Correction

If it's the same as a GU (which I believe it is), you can change the plastic gear on the transfer case end of the speedo cable, it's about a 5 minute job and i think a new gear was about $40 from Nissan.

Most Nissan dealers will say the same thing, however, if you have the part number for the bushes, they usually realise that they do actually stock them.

I also had problems with both my LRA tanks in my GQ. The aux tank snapped a rear mount clean off, which i didn't realize untill the other rear mount started to crack around the weld and leak fuel. And a couple of months later (same trip, was on the road for 9 months) the swell pot (approx 30cm high ...

Re: Rubber V's Polyurethane bushes for Panhard GQ

Hi guys are the rubber ones worth the extra $ or poly o.k ( nearly half the price ) tah

When i installed an adjustable front panhard, it came with poly bushes. After 2 day trips they were flogged out. I replaced them with nissan rubber bushes and even after a 38500 km trip around oz they were ...

I put one in my GQ (Turbo 35's etc) that was running warm ( i would start to back off when water temps climbed over 110) and i never had an over heating problem after that. If the radiator was clean you would be pushing it real hard to get the water temps over 90, and if it had mud in it you were ...

Is that a Std 4.5Ltr cleaner?

Another airbox that's meant to flow well is the airbox out of a 4.5 litre patrol. A few of the turbo petrol cars built at ONTRACK have used them, including shrek (although the one in shrek had a modified inlet). I have one in mine and it has a 3.5 inch inlet and outlet.

Looking at the photo's I think you would need a body lift to get enough clearance to fit the 6" diameter barrel.

I have one on mine and i think it's great. Before the I/C went on, i would start to back off when the EGT's hit 600, and that was running 10 psi. I'm now running 15 psi, with the fuel screw wound up to max and i have trouble getting the EGT's over 450.

It's around $1600 for the kit which includes the barrel, water pump, radiator, thermo fan etc..., however you still need some brass fittings, hose clamps, hose, some electrical items and the pipe work to plumb the air from the turbo to the intercooler and the intercooler to the inlet manifold. If you hav a 4 inch grinder and don't mind taking the shield off that stops the sparks from hitting you then you can do it yourself. Had to do this a couple of months ago and that's the method we used. We just ground the nut off the top. This was to a GU however it's the same setup with the GQ.
