Well I got it all worked out guys. The manual is totally useless when it comes to the correct assemble of these things unless you know the technical name for everything. If I had thought at the time I may have taken some photos to add to the Sticky How To... threads but I didn't. Give it a month and ...

BUMP!

C'mon, I know that at least one of you has some clue on how to put these back together properly. Don't make me figure it out on my own. Trust me I won't appreciate it more if I figure it out on my own. I'll just be pissed I wasted an entire saturday staring at hubs.

If all else fails angle grind them off and then drill them out. I replaced all of my body mounts with 10 mm (or around 10mm) grade 8 high tensile bolts just to be on the safe side. ;)

I think your assuming that it is a bolt that drops down from above somewhere. Well it isn't a bolt. It is a stud. It does not have a head on it. It is threaded on both ends. The stud screws up into a captive nut that is welded to the body. The captive nut is not accessable unless you drill a hole in ...

Get a stud remover. Failing that use the double nut idea as someone has already mentioned. Have you got it out yet, how'd you go?

Cherokee Front Suspension

Hey Guys,

A quick question for ye. I have a mate at work that's recently upgraded his suspension (lift) on his 1997 TD Cherokee. Its been in there for well over a month now and its been to the flinders ranges and back plus some local wheeling so its had plenty of time to settle. Now... The drivers ...

Dave,

You gotta try it yourself. Its not that hard at all. I did it by myself with a trolley jack. The only tricky part is aligning is getting the gearbox back on but as you won't be changing the clutch it should just slide straight back in.

You'll appreciate it sooooo much more if you do it ...

G'day from the past

Hey all you Daihatsu folk,

Thought I'd drop by and say hi. It's probably been over a year since I last was here. For those of you who can remember me, the Feroza is still broken and is still missing a front diff! I just totally lack enthusiasm to fix it. I looked into a Hilux running gear ...

Any clunk in the drive train means $$$$! Especially if a mechanic is fixing it! Good luck, hopefully the bill won't be too bad. Hope your new suspension work out well for ya too.

$900.00 sounds pretty good to me. I can't remember how much mine came to but it was more than that. I'm not sure how many leaves are in my pack, I can't even check as the Fez has been banished to my parents house. We aren't talking to her at the moment as she has a bad habbit of blowing front diffs ...

Hey,

The choice is totally up to you but I recon that new Torsion Bars are a waste of money. Just wind your stock ones up. Only get new ones if there is something wrong with your existing ones. Not all lifted after market springs are hard. I have 50mm lifted TJM springs in the rear of mine and they ...

Ok, sorry.

It is a fairly quick job. You will need:

A highlift jack
A 13mm drill bit
A drill
Assorted spanners and sockets

I made mine out of nylon rod which is avaliable from Consoldated Bearing Company or any plastics shop. There are ten body mount positions. I used a lathe to make my raising ...

The old rear windscreen of my Fez was tinted before it smashed and the tint job was much neater than that! The bolts can be removed and once the tinting has set the can be put back in and tightened with out it effecting the tint. I'd take it back and do a song and dance about it. Ring consumer ...

15x7 sunnies and 235/75 x 15 tyres will fit on a standard height Feroza no worries. I also think that size tyre is the biggest "legal" size you can go too.

In referance to the above picture. I've done it again and now hate my Feroza to pieces. The guy I got the diff off of won't cover it under warranty either. I was hoping that the refund would contribute to the conversion but I guess not!

Later.
