cant fit large tyres to rocky

cant fit large tyres to rocky
hey just a question for you guys/girls that own rocky's with leafs.
Do you all have the problem with the size tyre you can fit to your rigs
It's just that my mate has a rocky with leafs and has had alot of trouble it getting large tyres to fit as they scrub on the springs when on full lock. what do you guys suggest we thought spacing the rims out but no-one in perth will dare help insisting they are illeagle. apart from that a really wide off-set rim could help but what rims?....
all the help provide would be much appreciated thank you.

if its reasonably old could probly do with new suspension, so look for sum1 that makes leafies and get em to make up new ones + 2"... then you would have no trouble with 31's, or maybe even 33's? I got quoted around $500 for new springs, raised 2" here in sydney (supply only)
60 + Turbo, 33"s
Yep, same problem here. My 15x7 with 235-75R15 BFG A/T and my 15x8 with 31x10.5x15 Simex Centipedes both touch the leaves behind the axle. You can adjust the steering stops to stop this, but you lose a little bit of turning circle, which you dont really have because they touch the leaves anyhow. Not an option for me unfortunately, as the steering stops tend to destroy the lower ends of my shocks.
Mud makes excellent toothpaste.
Yeah i've the same problem too.
What i did was just cut the steering stopper as i learned the hard way of destroying 2 sets of front shocks when they bottom out hard.
1 question, there must be a reason for those stoppers to be there. So was wondering can u do untold damage if u kept turning the steeringwheel to the steering box or something?

My RIG sucks big time.
so there is no avoiding what my mate is going through. and yous just put up with it, and dont turn so hard
sounds like a massive draw back for these little trucks coz they do go fairly hard.
is there a suitable axel conversion to set the wheels out further and even if it is illeagle, do spacers help at all

When the steeringstops are discarded you can in theory freely turn the steeringbox to the end of its stroke which can cause damage to the ball-nut. However the chances of the box reaching its limits are very little in practice i guess. It'll hit the springs or frame firstBabyGodzillaGTi-R wrote:Yeah i've the same problem too.
