Re: Mudflaps

Mine came from a truck wrecker. I was going to cut up some truck mudflaps to suit but found these being used as truck mudflaps :D
Cost me $10 and had enough to do all four wheels. Although I've never attached the front ones as I have to make up some brackets to suit.

You could always ask around an ...

Re: Gots me a new car!

Thanks. I tried that today and it worked!

Very happy to have a clock in the car now.

While we are at it, anyone know what the big plastic hole filler above the radio is for?
I always thought that was where the clock went in other markets/models.

Re: Gots me a new car!

The gxl has a clock - its a function on the radio which is the same throughout the toyot range.
.

Do you have to activate it somehow?

We have a 2010 GXL wagon for work and it does not have a clock in the radio but our 2010 Hilux SR with the same radio does have the clock.

It is very annoying ...

Be sure to keep us informed. Will be very interesting to hear what the fuel economy is like.
I would prefer the revs were a little lower but I'm very interested to hear the results.

Whatever happens you certainly won't have any trouble on the hills!

Don't forget that a standard Defender has 32in tyres and Disco 29in so take that into account too when comparing to the MR Defender.

Re: Disco 1, go lexus V8 or supercharge?????????

Hi Ron,
Mine is a manual 3.9 v8 but I find it is also much better on the hills if I keep the revs at an indicated 2250 to 2500 which is an indicated 105 to 115km/h. Probably closer to an actual 100 to 110km/h. So it will be interesting to see what affect it has overall. No doubt your towing will ...

Re: Removing tonneau rivets?

Can you get another tray?

I had a 97 Rodeo dual cab. It came with a cover but I put on a canopy. I used to catch my belt loops on the round plastic riveted on things.
So I bought another tray. $80 for a white tray complete with lights etc that had been sitting in a shed since new. Just had a turbo ...

Re: 2 inch Body lift for Rodeo

When I did my body lift I used a dremel type tool on those bolts.
However I didn't grind away the hole head. I just cut down through the weld on either side of the bolt head. It was a bit painful to do the weld you can't see but it wasn't too bad. Although I remember swearing at it a bit.

That is fair enough if you are going to change the ECU etc.

I know of PhilipA's project. I did the same thing as soon as he posted up that he did it. Works well. Gets rid of the rich running for good.

Then again if it won't be your daily driver then why spend a lot of dough and time on saving a ...

For the same cost you could fit two oxygen sensors into your exhaust and wire them into the ECU and let the computer worry about your mixture settings.

If it is the fuel pump and it is the in tank one then try just replacing the actual pump within the housing. Should only cost about $100 that way.

Re: warn low mount brake

I've got a Warn M8000 winch from about 1993 on my car. I know the brake is different to the one in the manual you can download. Warn told me the brakes were interchangable so long as you change some other parts too.

I didn't have any trouble pull mine out though. I've got pics at home but on my ...

Careful with the razor blade. I did one of my windows with a razor blade (and a hair dryer, ammonia) and it left scratches on it.

For the others (not finished all of them yet) I used a plastic scraper, hair dryer, ammonia and one of those green scourers and it worked very well with no scratches.

You can buy analogue gauges to suit LPG tanks. Pull the valve cover off you LPG tank and see what ohm range it is. 0-60 ohms is most common. You can change this part over to suit your factory fuel gauge too.

NP Pajero diesel fuel filter light

Hi,

A mate of mine has an NP Pajero diesel and is having starting problems which coincide with the fuel filter light coming on on the dashboard.

Does this light mean to change the filter or is there a water drain valve somewhere in the fuel system?

Thanks

I know but if you bought a full set of Rhinos then they would all match. They would also be better and cheaper than REPCO cheapies.
