Re: Camper Trailer suspension
Has anyone made up their own independent suspension set up, looks like their not overly technical or hard but seems to cost a lot especially in comparison to a normal leaf spring set up. Are they worth it, does it really make much difference. I imagine clearance would be a better but its not exactly ...

Re: Camper Trailer suspension
Giving it a bit more thought it looked like the suspension had been changed at some stage (non galvanised welds on a hot dipped trailer) and my guess is that they got the set up wrong, the springs still had a pretty good arch on them and I think if the shackles were hanging down instead of back they ...

Camper Trailer suspension
Hi, I went too look at an older off road camper recently and the shackles were all the way back to the point where they were sitting up against the chassis, the current owner had said that the past owner had mentioned that the axle had moved slightly back along the leaf springs (wheels where a bit ...

Re: LPG Converter?
I just pulled the converter apart and had a look at everything inside and it was alot cleaner than I had expected, the filter looks almost like new, apart from a slight build up of what looked like baked on oil there was hardly any gunk. Upon taking it for a test drive I remembered something else ...

LPG Converter?
I had been having a few issues with my 90s Prado starting on LPG and then it progressed to occasionally stalling when swapping over to LPG to now it wont run at all on LPG so I took it to the local lpg place where upon hearing this and then seeing that the system is about 4 years old said that it ...

Re: Prado v's Discovery >$20000
I would have thought so too but a quick search of the online classifieds for discos and prados in the 15-20k bracket with less than 200k km didnt reveal much difference in age and km for $$$RUFF wrote:Your going to buy a lot of Disco for 20K but you may get a decent stock Prado for that money.

Re: Prado v's Discovery >$20000
He does realise that the Prado is a soft roader as well right? It will be a big stepup from their xtrail, so your saying that the disco is alot more capable off road? And the Disco is defianatly more LPG friendly. The Prado V6 is not a real fan of LPG. I have not heard of or have had any major ...

Re: Prado v's Discovery >$20000
I wouldnt have thought you could get a 120 prado for less then 20k. we just sold our 1kz 90 series and it was a great truck. 11.4l/100km with steel bar & roof rack, 33's etc, they are very reliable and cheap to fix, not that they break very often. Your probably right, I have seen a few just under ...

Prado on LPG
I am thinking of converting my 90series Prado to LPG but have heard that the 3.4V6 doesn't like LPG and i were wondering if any body has had 1st or even 2nd hand experience with the 3.4 on LPG or if this is just another "my neighbors cousins workmates brothers friends father" fallacy. I have heard ...

105 series uses oil???
Currently looking at a 105 series auto petrol GXL through a friend and the owner (being up front) said that it uses about a litre of oil a month due to the weight of the vehicle does this sound right, do other peoples cruisers do this or is there something else wrong
Thanks
