So I'll be the first to admit I run my 15a mig with a filed down plug. First house we had a 15a socket so it was no drama , every house since only has 10a. Current house I'm waiting to build a proper shed so not going to fork out just yet for correct outlet. Occasionally it trips when I turn the ...

You are basically asking whats better ford or holden?
If the rangey if rust free and the motor is in good nick stick with it. Plenty of potential for not alot of money if you spend the time lurking around learning how best to mod it.

Just as a test drop the bonnet back down... Chances are it's working to let the air flow flow through. But see if the extra force of air all following the same path creates that last little "vacuum" it needs to keep it cool. Very unlikely to work but it will only cost you your time.

I'm sure you have covered this already but.... What are your shrouds on the radiator like? What obstructions are in front of it? can the air escape from the engine bay?

It's a heavy mutha. Thats packed to the hilt though when they are "moving house" so to speak. The old man wouldn't comment on the economy, only mentioned when they got gas it made an amazing difference to it (4.2diesel with after market turbo) and the tinny was on a from on the camper trailer.

I am no engineer, so I am just asking... Does this very thin bit of steel (marked in arrows) really add much strength to the whole set up? The reason I ask is that if I picture the same item with that very thin-walled part removed, it starts to seem a bit iffy in terms of the amount of steel going ...

Next guess the carby has gunk in it/is out of tune.

Worst case if the cable breaks its going to slam back down on the trailer frame, possibly damaging it, but i doubt anyone would be injured.
