Hi All,
Got a GU with TD42 and aftermarket turbo. Changed the oil and oil filters recently and may have put an extra 500ml in on top of the 10.5litres recommended in the owners manual (got distracted during the process).

Is the extra 500ml a problem?

My TD42 N/A was manufactured in March 99 (plate on motor) and fitted into my DX GU wagon with a build date of December 99 (chassis plate). It is a "black top" motor.
Does that mean it is one of the stronger TD42's from the GQ era that may have been left over when nissan discontinued the GQ?

Problem fixed. Thanks for all your help, esp. fatnuts69.
Getting the box apart was not a problem and I did find 2 suspect solder joints which I touched up and now it all works a treat

Thanks for the replies.
As suggested I ran 12 volts to the motor and was able to get the window up and down no worries. On this basis it seems that the motor is not stuffed. I don't think the switch is stuffed either, in my original e-mail I had pulled it apart and cleaned up the contacts ...

Got a '91 dual fuel LWB GQ. Filling the petrol tank can sometimes take ages and the bowser clicks off alot which slows the filling process down a fair bit as I have to trickle the petrol in to make sure I have maxed the tank with fuel.
