More affordable, commercially available snorkels

Hi guys, anyone have experience with any of these snorkels? Was snooping around ebay and saw this "Safari Airflow Off Road" snorkel selling for AU$275.00:

Help with a 2" lift for 2003 Jimny Sierra...

I'm new here at the Zuk forums. Having started at outerlimits driving a V44 Pajero then later on shifting to my present GU Patrol ZD30.

Now I have a Jimny Sierra as a runabout. Trying to put on a 2" lift on it. I'm using coil spacers and longer Monroe shocks.

I'd just like to ask if I need to ...

LPG/Autogas kits for GEN II Pajero

My brother drives a '97 GEN II Pajero with a 6g72 motor. He's wondering if there are LPG/Autogas kits available for it. Specifically a dual fuel kit that doesn't locate the tank inside the cabin of the vehicle.

Are there any recommended kits? Thanks!

I just got the Patrol back. My father was kind enough to take it to Nissan CRVi in Pasong Tamo for a check up. The main problem was some rubber hose going to the turbo got torn and the turbo was not building any pressure (which could also explain the lack of power I've been having lately and topping ...

Just this morning, on my way home, the check engine light came on, I still managed to drive home. When I turned the engine on and had to drive the car again after a few hours, the light did not stay illuminated anymore.

Maybe a trip to the dealer is in order. The high idling is driving me crazy ...

HELP: High Idling 2002 Y61 Patrol GU ZD30 A/T

I was on my way to a meeting last night driving the Patrol. When I came to stop, I shifted the gear lever to neutral (N). To my surprise the engine suddenly revved itself to about 1,000-1,200 rpm even without me touching the throttle.
I shifted back to drive (D) and the revs got subdued a bit to a ...

Thanks guys.

Ozy1 takes home the bacon. Yep, it was my shift action that was wrong. Stupid me. 4H to 4L and back should be done in one fell swoop without trying to stop midway (where N would be). Maybe I just got so used to the shifter action on my former rig (GEN II Pajero diesel).

HELP: Nissan Patrol Transfer Case Shifter (hard to shift)

I just noticed this afternoon. It's an '02 Patrol GU A/T with an aftermarket 4x4 system from HPI (Hummer Philippines, Inc.) consisting of the shifter, manual AVM front hubs, front driveshaft and indicator relay. [4x4 was not standard in that year due to a tax loophole]

I tried testing the system ...

I'm about to replace the coolant on my ZD30 motor and being a bit of a greenhorn on this (I used to drive a Mk2 Pajero) I'd really appreciate some help. Pictures/Illustrations are also welcome.

Newbie with ZD30 Question

Hi guys, I recently sold my '97 Pajero 4d56 M/T and got an '02 Nissan Patrol GU A/T with the ZD30 diesel lump.

Does this sound like a downgrade? [and other questions]

My current rig is a '97 GEN II LWB. Basically stock except for the sound system and a minor lift with 33" muddies. It has the 2.5l 4d56 diesel with turbo and intercooler mated to a 5 speed manual. Super Select 4wd system, dual a/c, seven [cloth] seats, bouncy front seats are its other features.

I'm ...

Proton is a partnership between the Malaysian company (and state baby) Proton and Mitsubishi. Their products are even less disguised than the Hyundais.

I'm not sure for your specific application, but we use lots of Hyundai parts to convert ex-RHD Mitsus into road legal LHD over here.

4d56 Power tricks

Is there anyway to increase the power output of the 2.5TDi 4d56 Pajero engine? I think it's rated at around 99bhp.

Anything that can be done while the engine is apart during a rebuild? Stock power is a bit thin when stock and easily gets taxed by bigger tires and/or towing runs.

Thanks!

Bullbar and side bar question

Will those ARB and TJM side rails work on any model of their respective bullbars? Specifically the TJM15 winch bar and the ARB Deluxe bar.

What needs to be done to be able to fit side rails on a vehicle with an aftermarket body lift?

Thanks!

I guess its not the QUANTITY of the posts but the QUALITY of the posts that make Outerlimits and 4x4wire stand out. I've been to other forums and it can get pretty stupid at times.

Their idea of tech is putting neon lights under the sidesteps and replacing the taillamps with clear lens ones. :bad-words:

Will you put this on your rig?

With fuel prices going up, this has become one of the most popular 'gas saving' devices locally. Personally, I really think its just a whole lot of baloney. The name alone sounds stupid. And the price they are selling it is equivalent to five tankfuls on my rig. What do you guys think?
