Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Have just turboed our 4.8 and the auto slips under full throttle and hunts for gears. Has anyone had success building a heavy duty 5 speed that will last? How hard is it to re-wire/delete the auto and put a manual or 4 speed auto in? Thanks mudbasher2

Make sure you run a earth strap from your alloy radiator to stop electrolysis. I didn't and within 18 months the core had corroded and the radiator needed replacing

Does anybody know who sells 23 spline to 21 spline coulpers( r series gearbox to gear driven transfer)? needed urgently/ or a 23 spline input shaft for a gear driven transfer case

ive been running the dyna box for about 4 years and it got a flogging(its a play car) the syncro on first and the thrust bearing let go and there was metal though the box, but in the end it was cheaper to rebuild the dana box then buy a r150 out of a hilux and i know its strong enough for a few more...

could somebody please tell me which model 4 runners had the r151 becouse when i ring the wreakers and ask for a r151 out of a 4runner they dont know which models had that box in them. I know that all hiluxs with the 1kz had the r150 so do all 4runners with the 1kz have ther151?

If i get a r150 from a hilux 3lt turbo diesal and mate it to the gear driven transfer case with a advanced adapters from marks 4x4 would this bolt into the same place as the dyna box? I would prefer this as the dyna box has a long gearshift throw ie changing from 1st to 2nd

would a r151 out of a 2002 HZJ 105 landcruiser fir or do you have to source one from a 4 runner

I stuffed my dyna gearbox today in my hilux. Do you think i should rebuild the dyna box or replace it with a r151? Will the r151 bolt in where the dyna box was? or is there another option witch would be stronger? My hilux runs lockers Q78swampers and a v6

Does anyone know of an approx cost to convert a gu 3L to a gen3, drive in drive out? and any companys that specialys in engine conversions?
