Yeah Aus4WD did have a GQ shorty with a RB30ET in it. Used the gearbox from a RB30 Patrol, although I think you can also use a RD28 box. These are a completely different unit to the TB42 gearbox and the bellhousing is not removable so you are limited in options. THe RB30 box is basically the same as ...

65 litre tank aren't they?? How many kms would you get on average out of that?

Thanks,

Thanks for your reply, yes yours is pretty much what I'm after, but with the bling electrics. I was actually even looking at the same rims!

I thought that may be the case re the auto. And a lot of the SR5's i've seen are manual so thats not a problem.

Have you had any problems reliability wise ...

2nd Gen 4Runners

Just a couple of q's on 2nd gen 4runners, I've been in nissan land too long and forgotten all toy stuff.

I'm basically wanting a comfy truck with all the fancy stuff, must have electrics, air con, steer etc etc. Thinking basically standard with 3" body lift and 33"'s on alloys. I don't want to go ...

Hahahaha..... ARB are as tight as they come, especially on lockers..... but they can be, where else are you gonna go?

(1) Jacmac

(2) Maxi-Drive

Both of which are IMHO much better than ARB (you just have to have to own a decent 4x4 (i.e. not a nissan).

They may be (IYHO) but if they're not ...

When we put the VH45 in mine Sandy made up an adaptor plate and welded it to the front half of the vh45 auto bellhousing. A lot of work involved but it did the job.

Firstly it would probably be illegal, putting an older motor in a newer car..... but if that doesn't bother you, why not run a MQ box? Much easier / cheaper to modify driveshafts than stuff around with the GQ Box.

Plus the GQ box is probably worth more than an MQ box, should make a profit.

Yep different bellhousings, but a unbolt/bolt swap still. There are 4 bolt & 2 bolt engine mounts on diesels too, easy swap though.

Wiring for the swap needs someone with some electrical knowledge.

Don't forget a diesel radiator, hoses are on the other end.

Accelerator cables are different ...
