The 03 Nissan GUIII 4.2 TDi has just churned over 100,000 K and is now out of warranty. I do my own services with minimal mechanical experience and when necessary have a certified mechanic mate assist. I'm no expert but no one has mentioned the fact that Nissan upgraded the radiator in the 4.2 TD6 (2003) to a bigger one (I think the one used in the petrol 4.8) for this very reason. Maybe this is a big hint to pre 03 Nissan owners from Nissan???They wouldn't do anything for nothing...cheap arse ...

From what I understand there are considerations when towing in 5th gear with some boxes...someone more expertise may be able to elaborate further than this.

Thanks Spanner, that explination has filled in the gaps for me. Just one further question, is it necessary for a EGT guage to be installed when having the pump 'tunned' up or is it a safe bet that once its set for 550 degree that's as far as it will go?

Cimpboy you are right, its a persistent problem they have 'attempted to fix'. Because it's happening on an irregaular basis (not as often as prior to them attempting to fix it) they are satisfied and I'm not.

I've previously posted re the problem of my vehicle running on ( 03' TD6 GUIII). The local dealer has had it back twice re this. The service manager stated that he replaced the wiring loom (or similar) for the fuel pump as per the Nissan Bulletin. Last week he had it back again re the same problem ...

Had same problem with Nissan filters, went to Cummins Fleetguard and no more problems.

I'm looking for some optios/recommendations of where to get my 03' TD6 Dyno tuned in the Brisbane to Gold Coast area. I could go to Sydney but I'm a few hours closer to Brisbane.
