HI all, Can I fit 315x75x16 mud tyres on a 79 series ute, I have 105 series steel rims. Not sure what mods I need to do to get them to fit e.g. 2" suspension lift and/or body life etc. ? Any clues.

Hmm Thanks for that. The surge is ever so gental you hear it more than feeling it. It's hard to describe the rise and fall in RPM is about 100-200 RPM so not alot. Doe it in all gears when just resting your foot in the same spot and on a flat surface. When you accelerate it disappears.

I had a quick look at removing mine, the cone washers are the hard bit to remove. I loosened all the nuts then tapped the hub with a soft-face hammer and it popped free.

100% sure. Had a mechanic drive it today after adjusting the tappets. He said it could be OK for years or it could just give up. He was going to find out the cost of parts and get back to me.
