yea, seen quite a few 4wd's with big spots that hang out past bumper/bar, often thought this is a little dicey. But with some designs of bullbars/bumpers/spots, u dont get much choice.

Middle: http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i140/Ezookiel/IMAGE_00405a.jpg But on the outsides of the uprights (headlight sides), there used to be a set of lights mounted at about 45degrees towards each side of the car, for finding those difficult to see over-grown tracks to the sides. They filled ...

has any1 tried measuring the max distance that a spotlight can throw at different heights? Does a spotlight throw further at a higher level? Is there a point where a spotlight becomes too high & is less effective? Are spots as effective up on roof as out front on bullbar? Things I've been pondering ...

mounting spotlights hi/lo on bullbar

hi all, thought I'll start general discussion on mounting spots on bullbars. Who likes mounting them "low" within bullbar? Who likes mounting them "high" on top of bullbar? Also, who likes to mount them within centre of bullbar & who likes mounting more towards outer of bullbar (near headlights ...

yep, glow plug timer hangs on back of alt - expensive to fix/fit when replacing alt - so lots do without it. Push button isnt required either, can hold ignition key on between "on" & "start" & hold glow plugs on manually that way. Works a treat. That's the vacuum pump on the back of the alternator ...

success

Hi all, I had alot of success following this post when I wired up my extra reversing spot. Found that green/white trace wire in main loom, put a pin in it, then put testlamp to pin, & tried reverse. Worked a treat, & just a pinhole left in wire. Saved having to run a feed wire all the way from ...

well, had a compression test, low in 3 cylinders 440, 400, 300, 380, 280, 320 (back to front). It's got a very "lumpy" idle - worth checkin tappets as may be a few tight. Glowplugs are new, checked glowplug timer & they kick in & out as they should. So no dramas there - that's when my next chain of ...

The GQ has never started "well" since I got it (beginning of year), and getting worst with the colder weather. By starting "not well", I mean it sits on starter a few ...

fire extinguisher

hi all, after some ideas for mounting a fire extinguisher in a LWB GQ. Where have you put yours? I thought I found a nice little posi down on side of driver seats mount, but I've got a large'ist bottle (1kg), doesnt look like it would fit with door closed. I reacon the preferable location is near ...
