The pinion angle should be ok as he gearbox xmember is spaced down by the drop boxes and the lower arms are longer by about 12 mm
yer i figured once i took the centre out i would say to hard and pay someone to do it but then i wont learn anything will take it out on the weekendand do some more reading

Diff Rebuild

Hi guys I have a slight issue of a rooted pinion bearing so because of the age of the diff and the fact that it was second hand when i got it im going to do replace all bearings and seals including axle

first question is how hard is it to do im pretty sure i can handle the wheel bearings and seals ...

Yer if you have the gear and the abillity then go for it just bear in mind the loads that it will have to handle and put some thought into the design before you start and if your not a good welder just tack it together and get someone to weld it
i mounted a pto in mine and it came up pretty good

if they are square holes they normaly have clips in them that hold lhe long part of the jack winder thare should be 3 of them mine only had one when i got it and that one broke soon after

loctite 401 is a contact adhesive that would do the job but it would be a pain to do
and if you do use it do not stick your fingers together cos they wont come appart

Thanks for that 8 meters per minute is about 26 feed and from what i can find a standard 12 volt highmount will pull 22 feet at 2000lb and 6.1 at 8000lb
and the 24 volt option only adds about 1 foot per minute so the pto is fairly quick compared to a standard electric.
Im not sure what the set ups ...

hi mate the symptoms are exactly the same as mine after sucking in water and was no4 cylinder missing and i drove mine for 6 weeks like it .

you will need a diagonal brace from the pivot to the top of the main frame .
how many amps is your welder if it is less than 150 it will struggle to get good penertration on the pivot especaly where it is going to need a pretty good weld

Hate to say it but the symptoms are identical to mine when i did the same thing and mine had bent the rod in no 4 and 5 had lost some compression also
It also stuffed the head by putting some good cracks in it i would be getting a compression test done first off and that will show if the rod is ...

first question are your spring hangers welded directly to the rhs? If so i would be more concerned about them tearing the wall out of the rhs than your drawbar failing.
