i have checked the bolbs and to see they have a clean connection. ive also checked round the gear box to make sure al the wiring has a clean connections but no luck yet

cant get the reversing lights to work

gday all
i just picked up a cheap hilux from the auctions a 1992 4x4 with the 3l engine in it. i took it in for a road worthey the other day and the one of the areas that it failed on was the reversing light didn't work when i put the transmission in to reverse.

any help would be apreciated

and f 250 or 350 maybe or an American import vehicle may be your best option most of them are legal for 4.5t. all the Aussie patrols and cruisers are only rated to 3.5t. or maybe perhaps get your self a small truck

There wasn't any decent factory GU engines to consider so i pulled it out and put a rb25det in it from a r33 skyline

the 1HD-FTE would be my first choice due to it being a directinjection with a macanical fuel puimp as being a apprentice diesel fitter dies help, but the idea of putting as toyota engine in to a nissan gets a few eye brow raisings.

about 650ish to 700 & add another 200 for the sub tank for around town & hwy use. all up around 900 to 1000kms range all up on the hwy sitting around 100 to 110 ish anything much quicker u can watch the fuel gauge drop

it depends as well if u need decent range being in vic, lpg is still cheap as there! & with government rebates why not, the 4.5 & 4.8s can take lpg, provided with the right set up

i was just wondering what is the factory turbo psi levels for a 99 GU, is it possible or worth it to turn the psi up, im not so much worried about running the motor, at higher temps or ruining its engine life as i plan for an engine swap in the nest 12 months!

i don't know much about them but i got one in my GU patrol a top mount one & a mate has one in his GQ patrol there the same engine but he has an after market turbo, mine is factory & his intercooler is a front mount water cooled one, & on take off he easily wins

11 to 12 per 100kms on highway or around town, underpowerd, but a after market chip can fix that. mine has just over 230kms on the clock & have flogged the crap out of it from day one & never had a problem with it apart from being underpowered!
