Hi, i am looking at buying one also, I have been told the 2001 onward were wide track. Is there any advantage in the wide track model? Also I have been told the diesels are problematic and the V6 is the go for power and reliability. I prefer Automatic but would like to know if there was any problems ...

Hey i was just wondering if this has been covered on here b4? i have seen it done a few times and was considering putting a series 1 or 2 LR ute body on my rangie as the old body is a but rusty and beaten up. What would be involved in the conversion..

ok here is my rig finally rolling again. toyota centre conversion, jack mac axles, 3inch front suspension, 4 inch rear, procomp shockies, holley carb, 2 inch body lift, 37inch swampers on custom rims. goes like the clappers, oh and LSD rear....soon to have traction control.

its not cheap...some people could do it cheaper than me if they have access to a lathe and cheaper parts ect.... axles + drive flanges + brass bushes from jac mac $1610 inc postage. front diff - HP 4.3 ratio was $300 rear diff - LSD 4.3 ratio was $250 2x used toyota cvs - $50 2x taps, 4x drill bits ...

iv just done my toy diff swap in my 82 RR, i used 4.3:1 ratios front and rear - front is out of a bundera its hi-pinion - Rear is out of a a 4 runner - LSD with the LSD's your axles will be too long when u put them togeather so u need to cut 8-10mm off the ends....assuming your using jack mac axles ...

oh ok, sorry you are right the rear is a low pinion diff and the front is high pinion, so i would be ok to swap my LSD rear to the front and weld up the rear? do many people weld up toyota diffs?...im pretty cheap and iv owned a locked front and rear patrol - weleded. and never broke anything is ...

hey got a quick question for all you toyota nuts, i got a range rover with toyota hilux diff centres in it and was wondering if the front high pinion diff is interchangeable with the rear h/p diff can u swap them around front to back?

race engineering in brisbane did it for me, it wasnt a perfect fit some of the holes where a bit dodgy off centre i think but i managed to do up the bolts with only stripping one or two bolts on one side..other one he did was perfect fit... charged me $44 all up ! but i had to tell him what to do to ...

yep will do, im going to make a website with heaps of photos and details on how i did the conversion. im currently waiting for race engineering to finnish modifying those spindles then i can start mounting the centre for the position and drill and tap the studs. im going to run standard toyota cvs ...

ok i got my axles today and 2 bronze bushes from jac mac and that drawing same as the one above...however im not really sure where everything goes. the brass bushes i got do i need to replace the ones that are on my front spindles with these placed over metal ones or somthing? do i need to remove ...

yep i got Race Engineering to do it while i got the swivels bored out ...i got them to elongate all the holes one side clockwise the other anticlockwise. Im going to put them on torque them up and make a piece of metal to fill a couple of the small holes to stop it moving if im happy with the setup ...

ok so im just wondering if anyone has any photos of theirs? i doubt anyone would....but if i elongate each hole on my swivels say 8 degrees with a milling machine or similar i can then simply bolt them back on. do they need to be also bored out 30 thou? like the swivels? what mods do i need to make to the swivels other than boring them out 30 thou
