Ok, every time i go offroad lately i get stuck in a mud hole. Traction is never a problem, its the diffs that get hung up.
So im thinking that instead of going down the diff lock road at the moment, that i go for some 35" tyres.
So what is the minimum i need to do to run 35's reliably?
I already run 32's and have a 2" spring lift.
Also what sort of cost would i be looking at?

i run a fender, but most rangie guys i know have 2"suspension lift, 2" body lift and flares with cut guards.
if you are willing to cut heaps then i believe a 3" spring lift will do.
if i remember right without the body lift 35's hit inside the rear wheeltubs on rangies.
look at some of the members rigs on 'post up your rovers'

The stock 2 pin diffs are weak - you will break these with 35" tyres. You will need to go to 4 pin and lockers are the best way to get 4 pin.

Once you get that sorted, you will likely break stock axles.

Maxi drives front and rear, either 2" coils, 3" body and minimal cutting of guards.

Or 2" body, 2" coils, coil spacers or serious booty fabbing of guards!!

Once you stregthen diffs, then hang on to the tailshafts! always a weak link on a rover...

I run 37" tyres on my rangie, first of all i thought it was a big mistake, i broke axles b4 i put them on and they snapped like bread sticks after, i had a 2" body lift and 2" spring lift that had sagged a bit and no work done to the guards and it rubbed likea bastard, now i cut the guards and put a 4" spring lift in and left the body lift in. and did a toy centre conversion with jack mac axles. doesnt rub anymore but i wouldnt mind some traction control or lockers.

alot of work if your keen for it or have allot of money to pay someone, i wouldnt do it again, id save my money and buy a GQ or somthing which u can slapa 4" lift in and 35s. but ragies are somthing different and it gets alot of attention offroad.

That's why we buy Rangies, to be diffrent and not like everyone else :twisted:

They cerainly do lots of attention off-road, especially if you can keep up with GQ's with 35's when you have a Rangie with 32's on like I do :armsup:

And no I'm not dremin', I have done so and proven it :finger:
