arc only ugly if you can't weld..if you get a mig you might want a decent one.maybe look at some factory auctions.get a good second hand one that has gas don't get a gass less one and if you get the right one doesn't matter if it's old some will last for ever..I can't really coment on cheap welders ...

take the rubber boot of then under that there is another rubber seal that the stick goes though,remove it,then there is a metal cap that you have to remove with a 10mm spanner.(i think 10mm)there is 3 bolts holding the stick in.

Mine was converted from R12 to R134a. Parts changed were: oil , O ring seals on the fittings that were disassembled to do the work, reciever drier and expansion valve (only because it was stuffed anyway!)

when welding steel if it is to cold the grain in the steel is tight..never weld wet....if you can pre heat your rods in the oven for an hour at 150degs it will weld better, also if you can try and put some heat in the steel,it's only mild steel so it should only need about 50deg to help it,if it was ...

has anyone got the new WIA 175 amp mig and what do yuo think of it ? i have the 150's and thinking of upgrading to it ans the 150 has been great , but need a little more . WIA and miller i think are one of the best.cig are crap.

any piece of copper will do,just a peice laying around, about 5mm or so,i use old mig diffuser.

what i mean by 10-15deg pull is when you weld you will pull the stick along the work not push.if you push the weld it will get slag inclusions and not a good weld.pretty much dragging the stick is what ...

wet the fuel tank with water and cover with a wet rag,I have welded deisel tanks that are full you just have to have big balls and just do it.

With the gap try and get a peice of copper and hold it behind it and weld,the weld should not stick to the copper.

BTW if you replace one gas with another ie swap R134a with R22 you will also need to replace all the oil seals and lines as well. Too much hassle, just make sure everything is clean and you've got the right gas charge in it. no point in swapping from r134a to r22,totally diff gasses,you would only ...

my advice witch is wat i did is if it is a r12 system get SP34E put in it.it is a mineral based oil gas witch the comm loves and doesn't work as hard and it will drop straight in..

The freon used in consumer aircons is only a lower grade kind of stuff. see if you can find someone that services industrial refrigerators/freezers. they can hook you up with the good stuff ;)

my front suspension is very flat.. maybe new springs first? hey oldgold i got to wedge in about 15minutes along the beach,
drove near the water it was rock hard.sat on about 80km at on point, there is a few spots where you have to go up high and that is about it.

just check the tide before you go.
