Not to sure on the 4bb1, but if it is close to the 4be1, d1 then maybe put a rover box in. Would make the conversion easier.

Have a look on the Australian Land Rover forum they know a bit about the isuzu engines.

I should be doing something else, Crimp it, it will be more reliable than soldering. Why, solder joins as above in vechiles are prone to fraying. The solder is very rigid and movment in the cable will cause cracking at the egde of the joint. Heatshrink wont offer any additional strenght unless you ...

No the surf chassis is shorter.
You would need to cut all the mounts needed off and transfer to your chassis.

Get a new one from the wreckers. The end of the bolt is magnetized to collect any metal in the oil. Welding the bolt will destroy the magnet and cause the diff center to wear quicker.

I thought the 18R equipped lux's came with 4.88's
Yep your right G142 = 8", 4.8, 2 pinion open.

You might also want to look at upgradeing the brakes, your 8" drums and solid rotors may find stopping hard.

Forget the Toyota LSD ther crap and last only 20' kms go the locker.

Put valve grinding paste in the engine and full the tank with paint thinners and see how hard you can drive it.

Done this with a charger and hauled ass before sending a conrod thru the bolck.

Rascal, he's referring to the Cleveland's not the Windsor and they are a monster
I was aware of that, I have owned enough Fords, rebuild enough 302/351 CLEVELANDS and seen them fitted into a hilux to known that there not that much of a monster to fit a hilux.

Let alone a 302/351 clevo ( you seen the size of these monsters?? )
There not that monster of an engine, and no tighter to fit than a 7mg or 1uz.
Cheap, reliable and plenty of bottom end.

The axles between models are quite interchangeable, just a difference in lenght from leaf to IFS.
I actually have a 85 centre, with 96 IFS axles, in a 92 2wd housing.
