If you're geting noise from the alternator, check the obvious to start... belt and bearings. Have a look at the rear bearing - I've had a similar problem recently, rear bearing collapsed. try Brunswick Diesel or maybe the other guys doing the engine changes... they take out the old airbox and replace with a different unit in a different place, so maybe they have a few in the dumpster out the back??

The factory Nissan alloy bar can't take a winch... Even with a "cradle", it can't mount to the chassis with the alloy bar. Go for the hand winch in the mean time mate. A roof basket made from wire mesh and mount it on some standard roof racks might be a cheaper option too. Can't recomend a decent ...

The new common rail is a ZD30 4 cyl, they havnt changed the engine, just the way the fuel get in it. I have a 2002 ZD30, and have been happy with it, touch wood. it now has 145ks on it... Redman has got it. A ZD30 after 2002 should be fine... To compare a 4.2, you need to intercool it. But in saying that, the 4.2 is a great truck too. Wastegate! Stick to toyotas champ, the 3.0L has a bad enough name without ill informed people speaking on their behalf. As for blocking EGR valves etc ...

answer 1. Yes, the cable needs to be that size as the tool works by clamping the cable (without damage!).

answer 2. You're best off going for the original gear, as the ends are tapered for feeding in to the tool, cost unknown, source any 4wd shop.

Check for your fault first dude. If it's gone into limp mode, then the engine check light should be on too...? It doesn't get it off the back door, but they do make a spacer to fit a larger (33") tyre. I think you'll just have to fork out the sheckles... Check all manufacturers and see what you like the look of too. The new ARB is a nice unit - about the same as the Kaymar though! Don't know how they hols up ...
