Alternator
If you're geting noise from the alternator, check the obvious to start... belt and bearings. Have a look at the rear bearing - I've had a similar problem recently, rear bearing collapsed. Failing that, pull the alternator out and check the brushes. What ever the problem, don't be afraid to pull the ...

If it's anything like my 2000 model, it may be sitting there already for nissan to charge you heaps for a fitment... If you look in behind the dash, above the glove box and there is a little white box (about 100x100x40), it's already there. I found mine by accident when fitting a second gove box ...

The factory Nissan alloy bar can't take a winch... Even with a "cradle", it can't mount to the chassis with the alloy bar. Go for the hand winch in the mean time mate. A roof basket made from wire mesh and mount it on some standard roof racks might be a cheaper option too. Can't recomend a decent ...

As with all answers on this forum, I'll start with another question! What do you want it for? Competition or general use when out 4wding? If comp, generally Plasma/Dynamica ( not dynamic rope) is lighter weight, a little more on spool drum, easier to handle when running around with it... costs a bit ...

If I were buying again... I'd buy a GU ZD30, like what I got, but I'd buy it blown... Pick one up for around $8k, sometimes even with some mods. Then I'd send it away for a 6.5L Chev, like what I got! That adds around $21k if they do all of the work. I have driven ZD30s (obviously) and even the Td6 ...

As I've said on here before, the ZD30 is tuned pretty tight, so messing with shit that Nissan has spent $$$$$$$$$$$$ on R&D isn't always the best... Yes, they do need to meet emission regs etc (do they check emissions ...

Redman has got it. A ZD30 after 2002 should be fine... To compare a 4.2, you need to intercool it. But in saying that, the 4.2 is a great truck too. Wastegate! Stick to toyotas champ, the 3.0L has a bad enough name without ill informed people speaking on their behalf. As for blocking EGR valves etc ...
