2.7 Turbo Diesel
92Kw @ 3600rpm
278Nm @ 2000rpm !!!!!!!!!
How sweet would that be?!?!!
Just for comparison
Vitara 1.6 EFI
71Kw @ 5600rpm
133Kw @ 4000 rpm
and the front cuts are around the same cost
Time to get the ol' measuring tape out.

I have a 1 litre with Series 3, 4.55 diffs and 33" rubber, and it really is pushing $hit uphill......or not pushing to be more accurate. i was thinking about a 253 V8 with VN heads, running on gas. This would be a relatively cheap conversion, and is possibly the lightest V8 conversion around.
Any ideas on these two motors?
How about a Gemini 2 litre? That's a cheap and easy swap and should have enough power.

i want to do away with the carby. EFI petrol, or diesel would be my prefered choices. Or if i ended up with a V8 I could run Gas.

The Holden Gemini was also available in a diesel. I though it was a 2 litre but am not sure - does anyone remember what size the diesel gemini engine was?
Should be small enough to go into a zuk. Dunno the specs.

Your zook isnt a white coily by any chance is it?
If so then i probably know the guy that did the conversion on it. I have the 100kw 4A i my zook and have dragged this coily with the 20V in it. could keep up at lower speeds but once got over 100km/h this 20V pulled away without any hasstle. so yes the 20v has all the power up high in the rev range. Now just have to find someone with a GZE to drag off to see how it goes

i used to drive a terrano with the td27t + 3 speed auto. it went okay but a terrano is much heavier than a sierra. the figures look impressive now. i never knew them when i had the car, and it never felt like it was that strong. it's not a big engine though (exterior dimensions wise). it had plenty of room in the relatively short engine bay. it might be something worth looking at but i think it had a married tcase. did you manage to find out the weight of the engine and gearbox?
Gemini deisel is 1.8lt matched by a 5sp gearbox.
You have to move things around and need a tricky cv based connector between gearbox and transfer case. Transfer case has to be moved but not much. It goes absolutely awesome.
If the terreno is intergrated transfer then you also end up with low, low as part of the bargain. What are you waiting for DO IT....

Gemini diesel specs here:
http://users.tpg.com.au/ihickey/diesel.html
40kw at 5000rpm and 105 Nm at 2000rpm
Nice and grunty for a small motor at low rpm, but still revs good for a diesel.
Equivalent power of 1.3 litre 45kw (yeah we know it's massively overstated - more like 40hp at the wheels) and 100Nm at 3600rpm
1.0 was 45 hp ( 33kw) at 5500 rpm and 73 Nm at 3000 rpm (more like 30 hp at the wheels).
If a smoky diesel is for you then this should be a good replacement for a 1.0 - dunno if I'd consider it for a 1.3 though. You should also get a 5 speed with that - all the diesels were 5 speed......
The Suzuki power claims are seriously overstated unfortunately - wish they were closer to true.....
