Mods on a GU 4.2 TD

Post by Wilko76 »

Hi All

I have been given an option on my truck to put a 3" exhaust, modify the inj pump and increase boost to 16psi.

My question, is this safe to do with an older engine with a few kms? Vehicle is in excellent nic but don't want to overdo it.

Your mods are fine, but boost is a little high, 12-14 psi from a stock turbo is adequate. As long as the person knows what they are doing, keeps tabs on egt's while tuning, all will be good.

Hope this helps.
