has any 1 got the stt's are they any good off road/ mud how much are the roughly any info on tyre would be good cheers
hi i am running stt on my hilux which i have had for bout 8months, found them to preform quite well i have 33x12.5 on a 10" rim, paid $300 a tyre from the local tyre shop.
They have a good tread pattern and work well in mud, i mostly use mine for rocks which seem not to wear real bad considering what i do with em...
Alot quieter on the road than my mates wranglers and bfg muds..

3.0L turbo diesel, 4" lift, bud's front housing, track assasin cv's, air lokker front + Rear, beadlock'd 37 stickies, high steer, 15.5" travel ranchos, high pinion diff and coils on the rear
Shit tyre, the rubber over the carcase is too thin and the tread blocks rip off, leaving exposed canvas.
The old ones were good though, and the ST's are fine but tend to cut and chip a fair bit.
My stepfathers mate did this to 2 tyres they were 12,000kms old - see the sharp edges still on the other tread blocks

Mine have about 70% left after 15,000km. But I have a working LSD in the rear, and an ARB diff-lock in the front, so I don't spin them much to get where I go. No, they're not the ultimate off-road tyre - they're not meant to be. I think they're a great all-rounder, and an excellent tourer. I've done Fraser, Cape York and Simpson Desert on mine. I drove everywhere I wanted, and have never had as much as a slow leak.
The STTs have the ST-C compound, so they resist cutting and chipping better than the standard S/T, but they won't last as long on-road.
If you're after a mud tyre, look elsewhere. BFG Mud, or something even more aggressive.
I deal with these tyre issues all day every day and the size and
format of a given tyre plays a big part. ie. rolling dia.,LT or
passenger construction fitted to a heavy or light car with all
sorts of driving styles and surfaces. I have never come across
anybody that was completely satisfied with a tyre that is hyped
up to be as perfect as a Cooper is made out to be. Moreover-
their expectations are way in excess of what these tyres
are even half capable of. Steer clear or get burnt.

everyone loves being on the bandwagon when it comes to these tyres 
...i have done 50 000kms on mine so far and they would still be around 70% tread depth...this has been a combination of normal on road use, towing a 2.5 tonne car trailer on long hauls between Brisbane and Sydney as well as trips to Fraser etc and wheelin trips to some parks and i have never had an issue with tyres scuffing, ripping apart blah blah blah..the biggest problem people have with these tyres is leaving them fully inflated when offroad and flogging the crap out of them..if that is your driving style then forget long wearing tyres..whatever brand you get will flog out so just buy the cheapest..
my Coopers perform excellent on road both wet and dry and offroad they had no problems driving the same terrain i did with my JT2s...
i would have nohesitation buying another set of them when these ones wear out however as my rig will be a tow rig only from now on then i will be going to a set of all terrains (either Cooper ATR or Mickey T ATZ) as there is no point in having a mud tyre on a car that will only see road or the odd trip to Fraser..
