Been looking for a cheap set of tyres to get out of trouble from about 3 months.
Looking at 31 x 10.5 x 15 Mongrels, is there anything else out there thats aggressive and cheaper or am i just being a tight arse.
I'm tring to build two trucks at once and it really hurts the back pocket, i just something cheap that will be used for off road only on the zook.
Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers Nick

they are a sof compound and have heard not the best under a heavier truck but zooks are good.

Had them on my rocky, ~1500kg. Driven daily, I didn't get more than 15-20000 out of them, and the tread was down to 2-3mm. This was the 'Ground Hog' M/T. They have another M/T as well, maybe better wearing.nicbeer wrote:what u running them on. i've had the 31 muddies on the zook for about 30000 and not much difference on them.RockyF70 wrote:Have u seen any of the other Motorway tyres? i had a set of cheap cheap 31" mt recaps paid $88 each from a joint here in melbourne
ive had them for 3-4 years ive had 3 delaminate (2 replaced under warantee) they have a lifetime guarantee on the recap and both mine where replaced with no questions asked one at 6 months and 1 at 12 months the 3rd id lost the receipt
they where on a fj40 swb driven daily and i still run 3 on my fj45 troopy 2 on the vehicle and the spare there still over 50% tread and god knows how many kays ive done on them
if your in melbourne try

Sure enough there is a lifetime guarantee... but they seem very unsafe to me... what if they caused an accident. I wouldn't want any tyre that will delaminate, especially if you were on the open road.pcman wrote:i had a set of cheap cheap 31" mt recaps paid $88 each from a joint here in melbourne

Tyres are one thing I don't skimp on, along with brakes.
Maybe different then, i have the muddie like a bfg style.RockyF70 wrote:Had them on my rocky, ~1500kg. Driven daily, I didn't get more than 15-20000 out of them, and the tread was down to 2-3mm. i have had a set of the motorway muddies on my jeep XJ cherokee now for
over 12 months and although the fronts need replacing this is due to me
driving on the road with no swaybar and i had a bent tie rod for a while too
so that sort of flogged out the fronts
but they are cheap i get mine for about $110 fitted
and the tread is so soft that it just grips to anything
i would recommend these over the mongrels if you are going to be doing
a bit of on road stuff, they will last a bit longer and will handle better on the black stuff
