3.0 flywheel probs
3.0 flywheel probs
I have a 04 patrol which apparently has just done a flywheel. Nissan will replace it under warranty, but apparently there are none in the country!
Is this a common problem with them? I will need to wait up to a week for a replacement.

No flywheels in the country for 10 days! Has to come from Japan. If I bought a Ferrari i could accept it , but 10 days for flywheel is crazy!

A saw a 3.0 GU flywheel completely destroyed at a local shop. They seem to be designed to be gentle, not like the TD42, which can take a hell of a pounding...
GQ TD42, OME 5" suspension, 3" bodylift, shimmed V6 Pathfinder LSD front, ARB rear, Safari snorkel, custom front and rear bumpers, Nissan 4.625 R&P, 37" MTRs.

We fit an after market solid replacement and heavy duty clutch to these.
No more dual mass junk with its rubbery feeling takeup and a decent clutch which all works out cheaper than using the genuine junk, from memory the genuine D/M flywheel is pretty expensive..

After 2 weeks, Nissan have put a new flywheel and clutch in under warranty. The people at the Service department at Brighton Nissan and Nissan customer care treat us with disrespect and think were morons!

Re: ff
That is bad business sense. Buying a new vehicle is on the last of my things to do list as many have this attitude when it comes to warranties.patzuki wrote:After 2 weeks, Nissan have put a new flywheel and clutch in under warranty.
