Please help with a car choice.
I am going to get a nwer car mid year or so, but i am torn between two. like the 4Runner, and the patrol, and have driven both for short distances, but only the Patrol off road.
Now, it will be a daily commuter of 60-70km daily or so. I do not do hard off road, but i do like to challenge myself, and as I drive a standard Sierra, I just wish it to be a bit better. A mates Pajero goes all the places I need to go, so can you base a decision on this. I like the Patrol due to its inherent strength, but is an IFS front really going to limit me? I don't mind putting in a locker to help this. I also with to do a bit more touring and Camping, but not across Australia stuff.
I have seen Nev'srunner, and it seem to have adequate flex( previous to the SAS)
Thankyou for the Help.

I'd go the Patrol. You don't say whether you want petrol or diesel but a petrol 4 Runner is almost as thirsty as a Patrol. A Patrol is a bigger vehicle to drive but if you enjoy getting away camping, the extra space is always handy. There are so many cheap aftermarket accessories (new and second hand) for a Patrol it's not funy. In the even that you do want to go a bit harder offroad, you'd do it easier in a Patrol with less risk of breaking something.
Just my opinion.

I think you should by a 4Runner with a body lift and suspension lift. A diesel one with aftermarket Turbo, 33's and an Air Locker already installed in the front
I may know of one thats going on the market in the near future
If God did not intend for us to eat animals, then why did he make them out of meat?
If you don't need the Patrol, buy a Pajero.
For most 4wders a Pajero can be set up to go anywhere you want to go. Any mods you propose to a 4Runner can be performed on a Paj, and the Paj will go the same places (if not further...
)
A Patrol is tougher and more capable off-road - no doubt. On road, a Pajero will walk away. Where do you spend more time?
A 4runner may be OK, but it IS a Toyota, with Toyota spare parts prices and a Toyota front diff.
After a Zook, ALL these vehicles will seem massive.
Any of the above 3 will do what you want. Buy the vehicle YOU want.
Good luck,
Scotgt
