Suspension - RV6 Prado

Post by 4WD Pom »

Dear All

After some advice and ideas. I'm in the process of buying a '98 RV6 Prado. The previous owner has recently put in new springs (standard height) and shocks (XGS at the rear, standard at the front). Now I was wondering about putting XGS at the front and also some new springs. If I put in some new springs to go for a lift (say 50mm) will I need to change the shocks or will they cope with it? Also, do I even need to change the front shocks or should I leave them (as they are pretty new) and just replace them when they die?

Also, whats the largest size tyre you can fit without a body lift? Not looking to do anything to serious but some long treks through Oz.

Cheers Will
