Engine weight

Post by Offroad-Events »

Does anyone have the different weight of the following engines handy ?

SD33T
L28 petrol
Chevy Small Block V8

I'm planning to convert my MQ from the L28 to a SBC and though about using the SD33T front spring to compensate the weight.

I fitted a SBC to my MK LWB and the front suspension actually lifted about 1" with the Chev fitted. The L28 is a bloody heavy motor & the front of the Chev actually sits behind the axle centre line instead of further forward like the L28.

Mine has a rear bowl sump which clears fine. I don't know what sump it is because I bought the the motor with it already fitted.
