Post by jigga »

im looking at putting a v8 in my gq shorty. i have been to the gq bible but the links wouldnt open.

what the 4.5 yota engines like? ive been tossing up about the 1UZ or 5l holden (mainly lexus though). but i would like to know more about the yota engine. eg. pros/cons.

Also any help on approx cost of conversion would be great!

actualy the 2uz is a 4.7l v8 found in 100 series cruiser's powerfull motor.

the 1fz-fe is the 4.5l 6cyl found in earlyer 100's and 80's and is one of the best big sixes around.

or u can keep it nissan and use a tb48 out of a later model gu they are more powerfull agian but use shitloads of fuel.

hmm well the 4.5l toyota six will be the cheapest motor to buy as it was introduced in 1992 so there are heeps around. probly next would be the 4.7v8 as there a more 100 series cruisers around then there are 4.8l patrolls.

though the 5l holden v8 will be the cheapest as it has bin done many times.

power specs are as follows roughly
yota 4.5= 165kw 370nm
yota 4.7v8= 174kw 410nm
nisan 4.8= 185kw 420nm
holden 5.0 160kw-?
