looking for an HONEST, RELIABLE mechanic (Newcastle area)

Post by brads4wdmad »

Hey guys
Can anyone help with any advice as Im looking for an HONEST, RELIABLE mechanic in the newcastle to Maitland area

I own a 1995 Nissan Patrol Ti EFI and want some minor work done incl servicing Gas / Petrol and idling troubles as my patrol is idling way too low with the air con on....
I did the Throttle valve body today and it is running really smooth and runs gr8 without the air on but when you put Air con on it idles at roughly 250 -300 rpm and sometimes stalls when stopping at lights etc

Just want a Honest mechanic as I am finding it really hard to find one

Thanks

Sounds like you may need to set the base idle.
Your Nissan dealer would be the best bet.
Good luck finding an Honest, Reliable Mechanic! Next you'll want a cheap one too. he he he

Andrew saide, from saides Machanics in young street in east maitland.
I was having troubles with my hilux which has a v6 conversion in it.
The guy who done the conversion did not know what he was doing when wiring it and tunning it.
Andrew and a auto electrtion he recomended fixed it after many machanics couldnt fix it.
He was very honest with me, showed me everything he done allowed me in his workshop for a looksey.
But he is a bit pricey, but hey you pay peanuts you get monkyes.( not very often you pay peanuts.)

Have you checked the "Fast idle" gizmo
Normally runs on vacuum when the compressor engages!
On the deisel's it piggy backs of the back of the alternator.
Not sure bout those weird petrol ones
