I am running 33-12.5R15 Cooper STT Armour Tek3 tyres on my GQ.
They are an awsome all round tyre, obviously suited best for mud.
What are your thoughts on them?

I've had the new 33x12.5 STTs on my GQ for about 700kms.
I quite like their on road manners, especially when wet. They got a fair bit of chips and cuts when I went down a steep hill with heaps of loose shale rocks.
They are way better than the old STTs which I only got 35000km out of.

dad bought a set of 33's and got 2000 km's out of them n they only had 30 % tread left they took them back 2 and dad wanted 35's n they replaced them they are a great tyer.but we also bought the 33's the day they hit the shelf.the 35's are brillant havent even poped 1 yer n we have done a lot of rocky stuff .they are wearing great

I have now done 16,000km with the tyres and have had 3 lug punctures, 3 punctures on the tyre corners and 4 sidewall stakes. All are tyres on the right hand side of the truck.
I bought these new generation Coopers after my older set of STT's developed bead cracks and I was offered the tyres at cost.
In defence of the Coopers I will add that all of the punctures were aqchieved when driving off track through somne horrendous turpentine country and none on formed tracks like the AB or others or for that matter in the Simpson.
What I have found though is that once a sidewall has been staked and one lowers or reinflates a tyre the hole gets bigger and yet another plug has to be applied. You get up in the morning and yes, you have a flat tyre. Then it is a matter of re-inflating up to 40psi and look for the bubbles to appear when you squirt water over suspect areas. Luckily I had travellers with me with good ears and hearing and we were able to spot the offending holes.
I will be keeping the Coopers for general 4x4 treks as they are very good on sand, mud and the black stuff but will be sourcing a set of Nissan splits(I have tried before) and fitting MRF 16 ply cheesecutters for the next BIG trip in 07

I hope this isn't too irrelavent but I don't own a set of these tyres, though I am currently looking at buying either Cooper ST or STT.. My main issue here is I am looking at doing a whole bunch of touring but like the weekend "hard stuff" so I would prefer STT's but am constantly being reccomended ST's for touring.. Any thoughts??
Also my old man had Coopers years ago and keeps sayin he got really shite wear out of them and don't buy Coopers - Though EVERYBODY I ask says they are great??

IM on my second set on second car...
brought my self a new set of coopers ST's 33' 12.5' r 15 for crissy, unreal grip on just bout anything.
didnt like them in the sand, they tended to "bite" abit to much.
also there is a fair bit of road noise on different surfaces...! can get anoying on long trips with the windows down.

A bloke i drive with has a 60 series LC, 350 Chev & a lead foot. His brand new 33/12.5r15 STT's { new design } were stuffed after 1 trip on the rocks, ie; multiple chips in tread blocks , multiple cuts & tears in sidewall & tread area & 1 tread block on the shoulder actually tore right off. We could'nt believe it , it seems the compound is to soft, when manipulating an individual tread block with your fingers it will move around alarmingly. He's spewing he changed from BFG muddies.
I went from a set of STE (now HT) 31x10.5R15s on the MK to a set of 32x11.5R15 LT. Much better off road, but a lot more weight in them and they over power my shocks (but shocks a little sus anyway).
The STEs made the MK handle like a sports car, and corner speed was impressive, but the LTs are so much worse. Lots more body roll and flex in the side wall really limiting cornering ability and direction changes, and heavier steering, which I guess is to be expected so I'm not really complaining it's just different. Good in the wet so far.

i'll stick with my 35's kumho venteras for all round offroad and on road getting 80,000ks dont ever buy darango (usa made) they are sh#t just wore down after only 15,000-20,000ks and slippery every where
