dose anyone know how the pressure release valve behind the oil filter works exactly, mine dose not have one in there, the motor has never had great oil pressure but is quite low now.
last service oil and filter was only 1000km ago, im thinking about putting a new pump in but thought i would get some advice first as it is quite a big job. any info would be a great help

what are you doin online at this time of the day? its no big deal im goin to fix it reguardless just wanted some advice before i started doing any thing.

replace the sender first , they arent the flashest thing nissan made

mine reads 0 most of the time with occasional 3- 4 then nothing again

been doin this for 4 years now cause im 2 lazy 2 change the sender
just a little left of insanity :)

What grade oil u using ?

Maybe like said above the oil sender has sh1t it's self ..

Replace the sender first .. I had low oil pressure in mine, replaced the sender first (about $20.00 from memory) and all was well again.

Mine always sits around 4 and then yesterday it dropped to zero but the oil light didnt come back on. It stayed like this for about 10 minutes and then went back to normal. I'm guessing its the sener.

The sender is prone to gunking up with thick crap and deposits.
Mine only moved occasionaly above dead zero and then only for a second.

On my last oil & filter change I took the oppertunity to pull it off and then cleaned the prick right out.

Working fine again now :D
