i have a 1985 holden jackaroo and as some of you may all ready know it has torshion bar front end, so in ather words i get really crap wheel traval is there any way of uping the wheel trav with out doing a converstion.
Have you had a look at the rubber mount that the front driveshafts are limited in travel by, or the shocker length?
If the front stayed the same for long enough these should still be limiting factors, but you'll only be looking at an inch or two more travel at the most.
Suzuki viagra is right. Trimming your bumpstops will get you a little extra travel but its the sad truth with ifs vehicles that not much can be done.
I have decided at this stage not to do any trimming due to the fact that I alredy have rubbing and also with the front locker the nessesity to have that extra wheel travel is reduced. Things can also start to go wrong with cv angles when you mess around too much with the trave so I decided to opt for reliability. So I say put a front locker in if you can afford it and if there is one available for your model...
i havent dont anything to the front end and i dont intend to cut the bump stops, i think i mite just jack it up some more put 32's on coz iv only got 30's on at the moment, and just get a front locker put....????

I have a swaybar disconnect on my Jack. The difference is fairly subtle but any improvement is a good thing. The disconnect that I installed is not being made any more I believe but there may be something else out there...

i too have an 85 and if its the same 2.3L petrol than i wouldnt recommend goin any bigger than 31's without doing diff ratios. i have had a mates 33's on just for a play and it struggled to take off on hill climbs, u end up havin no clutch left. But it does look pretty cool

as for the tyres like i said 30's at the moment but want 32's......... well i have pland to go with the v6 converstion so i dont think not having anough power to push them will be an issue.
