75 series T'case oil fill with PTO ?

Post by CT »

What is the correct oil fill level for my transfer case with a PTO attached?

The PTO fill plug is significantly higher than transfer case fill plug.

Do I fill them both to the PTO filler height? Can you overfill the T'case?

Do I fill through the PTO fill plug until the T'case is at its normal level (this has the Tcase as usual and the bottom of the PTO case with some oil, but not up to the plug level)?

My manuals are no help!
Cheers

pull out both fill plugs. fill through the PTO filler until oil runs out the transfer filler. then oil will stay puddled in the bottom of the PTO box and the transfer will maintain the correct level. it's all splash lubricated anyway, the level is important but not super critical.

cheers
