RBdirdy GQ Mod

Post by txhog »

Check this Rb30 with a GT42 turbo ad on, sounds like a Jet. Unbelievable.

Probably costs a bit to mod, let alone traffic fines

The RBdirdy is a RB30 Non turbo, the GQ is a Patrol that runs the same engine though with a Carby. You can add fuel injection to the RB30 Patrol. If you have the money you could add a turbo. Though its expensive.

If it is a godzilla motor it will be a RB26dett, that is a wepon of a motor and still cost around $5000 to buy as a jap import motor.
Its not cool, unless it's got boost :)

godzilla is just the term used for an RB26/30 (RB not shitty VL mototrs, just a full built 3 litre block with the 2.6 heads) that is producing 600PS at the wheels... people have taken that and now call every fargin skyline gtr a godzilla...
turbos are nice but i'd rather be blown

Thats about the price.. but he has had hassles with it. the thing goes like shit off a shovel too.. wins plenty of money in it at the drags :)

he is now talkin of bigger turbos. I like his style, tryin to get most out of the basic motor etc, before working snot out of it. he doesnt run slicks either, wants the most out of it as a street car.

Godzilla actually was a reference to the Gibson Motorsport Group A GTR R32 Skyline, which of course was not a RB30/RB26 hybrid.

The power at the wheels figure quoted is about right... but it was still a RB26.

Seriously, who told you that shit. Because they clearly have no clue on the history of skylines.....

Nor do they have a clue about tuning them either, since you can crack 1000 hp without stretching it out beyond 2.6 litres......

i know full well they can.... just that nowadays most people who are getting places to build there engines are straight away grabbing the 3litre block as its (in their minds) easy power.

i did know it was based on the gibson GTR but it has turned into the general term for skylines accross the world(of all models with a RB26) that have greater than 600 atw. and now into any GTR on carsales.com

on a side note, to all those toyota lovers..... the 2 fastest (havent looked in a while) to 300kph supras had a 3sgte and the other had an RB26 and i believe (dont quote me) that they were both top secret japan creations. so the whole deal on 2JZs being the greatest might not be true.
turbos are nice but i'd rather be blown

the term godzilla refers only to the R32 GT-R and it was so named thanks to it's insane speed and handling from factory

Only one thing comes to my mind when R32 skylines (godzilla) are in question.
The comment Jim Richards said to the booing crowd when he and Mark Skaife won Bathurst in 91 (I think) in one of them GTRs.
Dont expect mere proof to sway my opinion.

Wasnt that because all he was trying to express condolences for another driver who had died in the race and the bogan brigade wouldnt shut up cause they were all butt-hurt cause a 2.6L motor flogged their precious V8s?

Yeah your probably right, I dont remember the exact reason behind his expression of disgust.
My opinion they won it fair and square and they proved it again the following year.

It was the year that they crashed out in a sudden downpour. Dick Johnson (in a sierra) passed them to cross the line in first place, but then the organisers red flagged the race, and deemed the result to be 2 laps prior, making him and Skaife the winners.
