One pin is "S" which is sence. which you connect to 12v or 24v depending on the alternator

The other pin is "L" Which is normally a dash light.

Connect the "Sense" line direct to the battery! You'll get a voltage drop between the alternator and the batteries (particularly if they're in the tray) so sensing from the battery will compensate for voltage drop at higher currents.

Some installations seem to survive without the dash light connection, but not all can get away with it. I don't know this stuff well enough to know if you can hook onto your existing light, or if you need a second one. Anybody?

I think you do need two dash lights, as the dash light works by grounding one side of teh globe when the alternator isnt charging/working, and the other side of the globe connected to 12v. When the alternator is charging it supplies the globe with 12v instead of grounding it, therefore there is no potential either side of the globe, so globe doesnt light.
If you connect both alternators to the same globe, then if one alternator is faulty and isnt charging, then the 12v supply from the charging alternator is going to get grounded thru the faulty alternator and the globe wont light, or at least it may dimly. Plus you wont know which is faulty, and its not hard to add another globe anyway.
(Note i dont know this for a fact)
