WHITEWIZARD wrote:OK for my two cents worth, First of all like to say excellent weekend it was again a very close comp, two small mistakes cost us third overall for the weekend but hey there are two more rounds can't wait. Secondly like to say thanks for the people out there that get in and help with the organisation of it , they do it for free and they go out of there way to actually hold this event, so for the people out there that actually can sit on this forum and bitch and winge about it all you should be ashamed of your self. Why? because i can't see you do better and if you can show us and prove it then we might think differently.
This is not a did at anyone

The people building tracks dont do this for free

It actualy cost them hard earned $$$$ to go track building tracks

so as an other event states Put Up or Shut Up

As an organiser (of other events), I have encountered these problems myself. At the end of the day, you can't please all the people, all the time. If you can please most of the people, most of the time, you're doing alright.
You have to remember, the organisers and officials have put a lot of time and effort into putting on an event for people to go and play at. And sometimes, things don't go according to plan. What looks like an easy track in the set-up, can prove a pain in the @ss for the officials come competition time. It's not usually the difficulty of the track, more the extraction of broken/damaged vehicles (as I understand it was in this case). It's a tough decision to make (to change the track), and one that I'm sure wasn't made easily. But, for the greater good of the event, these decisions have to be made.
So, I commend the Tough Tracks club for what they're doing for our sport. If clubs like Tough Tracks stop putting on these entry-level style events, just think what the alternative will be. You would be starting out in the Extreme Winch series (no offence Dave).

he broke a shock, and trying to drive down that step pulled the wheel under, no bent arms, no broken pinion and of course, no limiting straps of any kind, oh , and took a while to get him out of his favorite spot there
