Hole in Radiator
After only 3000k's my VX commodore radiator in the Hummer replica sprung a leak, a hole in the core. Holden wont warranty it cause it's not in a Commodore (cheers), I was also told that if my Motor is'nt earthed properly it can cause electolasis (spelling??) with the alloy radiator??, has anyone heard of this.
My father in law got a new aftermarket radiator for his VS not so long ago, just about $150 in Clayton (vic). Stuff Holden. I don't see why it should matter that its not fitted in a dunnydore though if you're using it on a holden engine

VY's had mega issues with leaks in the radiator round the join between the core and the tanks. Dunno if that helps at all. Used to replace heaps under warranty at work.

Holden factory Warranty is 3 years or 100,000km, so a VT is out of wararnty period :(Hoppy11 wrote:yea, we run the VX ecotec motor, the commo aircon system, air box, condenser, but it's not in a commodore and you need a Commdore VIN to make a claim, and we own a VT wagon which may wear the warranty on it

what year VT?
VT's had 3 - 4 different rads in them
vx's have another couple,
if you pay postage, I will warrany it.
with the rad full, use a multi meter to test for current in the rad water, with and without the engine running.
Earth the neg terminal of the meter, and with the cap off, put the positive in the coolant, without touching the alloy.
If there is stray current present, you will need to get it fixed. It is usually caused by the different metals in the engine, and bad earths.
