just wanted to know if any classes need helmets, i read that soft tops do, but havn't found anything else,

i'm in open class because of my lift, and just wanting to know what i'm getting myself in for, so i was just woundering what the tracks are going to be like, (compared to the nissan trials, i was in standard,)

ive had a quick squizz, and cant see what they are doing track wise, are they going to let all the classes run the same tracks and penalise by percentage for the mods, likethey did at the J5 or will they have seperate tracks,

just askin as we are think of lettin my mother drive the comp truck, and the lowest class we can get it down to is open,

The 4 classes will have different tracks, for the open and outlaw class the harder tracks will be simular to the nissan trials, for modified the tracks will be a bit easier but there will still be a few challenges, and standard class will be fairly easy.

If you're in open, modified or standard class you can drive the harder tracks, it's up to you, but you don't get any bonus for it.

Competitors in open and outlaw class (or lower classes that want to drive the harder tracks) will have to wear and ADR approved helmet on the harder stages.

J7 isn't going to be like the nissan trials or woodpecker, you can drive all the tracks or none of them it's up to you, there is no order that you have to drive the events in, you can look at a track and wait until it gets a bit easier before you drive it, or jump in early before the track gets harder.

Come along and have a bit of fun, J7 ISN'T a serious comp! it's going to be a relaxing weekend with a bit of friendly competition, for anyone thats been to a blackrat challenge, J7 will be very simular. You can attend and make it a serious comp if you like, but most people will be there to have a bit of fun.

The reason the classes are the way they are is because we want to cater for stock standard vehicles with only 4 classes, so we ended up bumping most people into a higher class then they would normally be in, but we have made the tracks accordingly.

Each of the driving events will be a seperate comp, it won't be a combined score of all the events, so even if you only drive a few events you have a chance of winning something.

I've seen alot of people complain on here over the years that because they aren't in a club they can't drive in events, or they can't get a drive with there club, well here's your chance, everyone is welcome.

There will be a bit of give and take with the classes, there will always be vehicles that are somewhere between classes.

There was a little confusion with the entry form due to a typo on it where it showed 2 prices for pre-paid entry before March 19... i have fixed that now so the higher rates says AFTER march 19... if you open the page then refresh it, it will be a bit better to understand.

Just a bit of info about the tracks, for those of you that have been to a Blackrat Challenge, the Hillclimb, Mudrun and Maitland Mountain will be in the same places but the mudrun will be changed a bit. As well as those three tracks, there will be several funkhana events, travel ramp, self drive track, an All terrain track using parts of stage 1 and 2 of Woodpecker and a few new tracks.
Every track will cater for standard 4wds, so don't think you need big mods to enter J7, the funkhana event can be driven in a softroader.
Most of the tracks will be vehicle friendly, we are not out to see people break stuff, but there will be a couple of tracks that will be hard for the Open and Outlaw class.
It's a shame the Jamboree isn't run every year any more, it's hard to explain what a Jamboree is to people that haven't been to one, for those of you that can remember the 2003 Jamboree, this is what we want J7 to be like.
There will be a live band on Saturday night, heaps of stuff to keep the kids amused and an inter club challenge, it's not just about the driving events.

Have you been to woodpecker? the hardest track for Open and Outlaw will be the All Terrain track, it will use parts of woodpecker. I haven't been to the trials for a couple of years, but there will be a track something like trees revenge, and wombat holes but not as deep.

There is no spectator entry for J7 the $140 includes everything, you can drive in all the events or none of them it's up to you, J7 isn't a comp like Tuff Truck or Nissan Trials etc, the idea is to come along and have a drive not spectate, I know I've said it before but even if you drive a total stocker, you will still be able to drive 90% of the tracks, they will all have sections for standard 4wds.
Also the Traction 4 club are now hosting a winch challenge as well.

I'm in the raymond terrace club so far we have roughly 12 members already paid.

and as a group effort the raymond terrace club and canobolas club will be running the hill climb it is exactly the same as blackrat was if you were there?

So how much is it for extra adults for the weekend?
One link says "Entry into J7 will $140 per vehicle if you prepay before March 1st or $160 if you pay at the gate, day passes will also be available for $50 at the gate, all these entry's are for 2 adults and any children under 18, extra adults will be $30 each for the weekend or $10 per day. This includes entry into any or all events.", whereas another says $60 per extra adult for the weekend.

Look at point 2 in the vehicle classes.. hrrrmmm i wonder who they are referring to.................................. i better get some screws for that grill.

All Vehicles that compete in any of the driving events at J7 must comply with the following rules,

· They must have doors and a windscreen, and they must resemble the vehicle on the rego papers.

· They must have almost all the original panels from and including the front doors forward, basically if all that’s left of the original car is a firewall, half the chassis, and a grill that’s cable tied to a tube frame, you won’t be allowed to enter.
