6.5l chev turbo diesel

Post by sld86 »

Has anybody got one of these in their gq as my 4.2 just blew up on the dyno and im looking at the idea of putting one in. Just looking 4 the pros and cons with them as a few mechanics have said itd be a waste of money fixing the old motor if im after power and torque with reliability

Quote from Brunswicks agent in Melb $23-24,000 drive in drive out, engineered and all.
that was going into a 2.8 GU if I could find one cheap at the time... but I didnt :(

Edit - the TURBO verison of the chev wont fit, the firewall is in the way, the 6.5 NA will fit...

Re the turbo not fitting when i spoke 2 brunswick diesel direct he has one in his gq and said they nilly drop straight in aslong as you have atleast 50mm body lift. Are these motors reliable as ive heard they make big power stock for a diesal ofcourse as if im going to be spending 20g getting motor and lockers fitted i want it to last me out

ask them if they have an agent in your area. they have one here in Melb, I went and drove his GQ with it in.

fuckin stunning torque. but he was smoking pole, wanted $38k for his GQ with the conversion in it, bog stock on 31AT's with stock suspension.
