Broken air con belt
Just a quick question... does the air conditioner belt run anything else apart from the a/c?
My wife has rung me from other side of town to ask me if its safe to drive home tonight but without looking at the car I cant make a valid answer... Its definately the air con belt thats all I can say at this stage...
Weird querie but thanks

My AC belt has broken twice in the last 2 months during or after some offroading. The AC pump is fine but I don't think the tensioner pulley bearing likes 6000rpm. How do I fix it / where to get a new one?J Top wrote:you need to check the idler brg isn't failing, breaking the belt.
also if the ac pump is seized, you can't check this without putting a belt on and turning the ac on to engage the magnetic clutch
