Hilux mods where to now???????

Post by muddylux »

Just wondering what mods I should do to the Lux to take it to a new level.
Currently it's a 93 DC turbo diesel with 2in OME raised sussepension 32in BFG muds and air lockers f&r.
It has a swag of other mods and it's set up for touring and is used as a daily driver.
I want it to be more capable off road than in it's current guize, but I don't want to spend too much or make it unstretable as it's used daily.
I was thinking of a little more height 33's and more articulation.
What mods could be used to achive this.

It's used for work and the Qld regs suck so 3" body lift is out and so is 35's as they will not fit with only 2" body lift. I will only fit the 33's when going off road and wish to keep the thing as leagle as possible and within the grey line of the law as I see fit.

climax aren't legal in qld

2 inch body, 2 inch drivetrain, double carden, low profile crossmember.

if u want flex dont go a bigger spring lift, try and keep the leaves as flat as possible (keeps uptravel and downtravel similar)

ruf?

parabolic spring??

if u have some leaves lieing around maybe play around with the spring pack.

what sort of offset do u have?

how much u wanting to spend?

...................

sounds like u have a pretty capable truck as it is with lockers and muds

/\ shocks and superior drop shackles if you want it to be crazy do the whole kit longer springs and the rest so are you in Qld which means most of that list is out and yes it majorly sucks up here for mods i've heard you can't even run 2in longer shackels up here :bad-words: If i get pulled up at the moment they will write a novel on mine (Lucky it's not daily driver) can't wait to get some $ to go talk to engineer Know the shacles are out but hopefully shock hoops and a few other things are ok
plenty of parts on the bench

body lift
bigger rubber
coil spring ass end
bundeera front end
gu bonnet scoop
some spotties
a few good stickers
and a black bonnet,

that will look completely insane for a tourer and it will still handle sweet on road, flex like a goat offroad and all in all just look like a completely different unit

why did it star out g.o.a.t

Go to a 3" trail gear lift with hi steer in the front and run the 3" TG lift in the rear. works very well very flexy and gives good road manners for such a flex spring.

Im just doing the R&D on there new hi steer at the moment and if all is good will go intoi full production soon.

Price will be very competeive with all the hardware in the 1 package such as power steer frame brace steer stabalizer and full hi steer arms and rods.

2 inch drivetrain lift = 2inch blocks between ur engine/transmission/transfer and ur chassis. lifts ur >>LOW<< transfer case off the ground and makes ur gear sticks pop up to match ur body after ur 2inch bodylift.....

*cough* dont know how legal it is *cough*

The best things you can get is the U-bolt flip kit, adjustable torque rod, drop drag link or high steer components. Some really soft springs, bolt on torque rod for the rear. The list goes on, start here and your driveablility will be much better.

U-bolt flip kit, allows you to remove the REAR lower shock plates from the underside of your solid axle truck they will give more ground clearance underneath the axle housings. The rear lower shock mounts will need to be relocated.
