funny noise when in high 4wd

when in high4 there is a strange whining sound comming from the front assumed diff pulled the cover off and everything seems fine only does it in high 4 so must be diff or drive shaft releted i thought

any help appreciated

I had a similar problem in low 4 I though it was coming from the front diff but it was the transfer case, the rebuild cost about $1000

nah only does it in high 4 low 4 seems fine but it might be that i cant hear it

is there an easy way to check cvs

thanks for the ideas so far guys i did a check today and it cant be the transfer case i put it in high 4 with the hubs still unlocked and there is no noise

so i guess that means its either the hubs or the cvs

if anyone knows how to check the hubs and/or cvs any info would be greatly appreciated
