hey guys,
just a quick one, will i get a 32.11.5.r15 on a 15x7 rim?? Cheers, its just that some shops wont fit it for some bloody reason..

they will go on 7's but may roll around which is why some shop may be worried, would be better on 8's or even 10's as they 11'5 wide

well i just got my car on the road like six months ago (im just 18) and brought the black rims, so ill be able to get away with it aye? Thanks for the quick re!

There's a "bible" in the Australian tyre industry which lists minimum rim width for any given tyre size. In AUSTRALIA, a 7" wide rim is below the minimum width for an 11.5" wide tyre, so it's illegal to use this combination on road - that's why tyre shops won't fit it.

Off-road, you'll be fine - if you can find somebody to fit them.

GXL HDJ80 Cruiser - Lifted, Locked, 315's, 3" Zorst, Safari Intercooled, High Flowed Turbo, All the fruit. AMMS tuned coal shovel, Pushing 148rwhp... + heaps of the black sooty goodness...

I Have BFG A/T's, around 4" of lift, no rear sway bar and high roof as its a sahara, Yet have no dramas when cornering, They dont seem to bulge too much, though i start to see a little crease just above the bead/edge of the rim when aired down to around 16psi. On the beach i try keep them at around 20psi, mind you i have a lot more weight in the 60 then a lux so ull be sweet. On the road i run them at around 37-38psi and they have worn nice and evenly. But in 2 weeks time she goes in to get a set of mickey thompson 16X10 classic lock rims and 305x75x16 BFG Muddies. :armsup: :armsup: :armsup:

Yes, they do fit on the rim, but they are an illegal fitment for the 32" tyres, you will only be able to fit a 31" legally to a 15x7" rim.
If you do fit them you probably won't have any probs, but you wouldn't want to get pinged by QLD Transport or even worse, your insurance company not paying a claim because the tyre is not legal for that rim.

That's rubbish, what if it is a 31x9.5r15 ?

It's the width of the tyre that determines how wide the rim must be, not the overall diameter.

P.S - The tyres are too large in diameter which voids insurance anyway.

I posted this in another thread regarding 12.50" tyres on 8" rims.

Mickey T and Cooper both passed 33 and 35's on 8" rims years ago.

The Tyre and Rim Association of Australia 2005 edition and onward state in Section B page 10.... B-10:
SIZE - APPROVED RIM CONTOURS
33x12.50R15 - 8J, 8.5J, 9J, 9.5J, 10J, 10.5J, 11J
35x12.50R15 - 8J, 8.5J, 9J, 9.5J, 10J, 10.5J, 11J

As a thought.... although this does state that it is ok to use on an 8" rim, if the tyre manufacture does not specify that an 8" rim can be used, then I can't see how this can overide the manufacturers approved rim widths.
I spent some time earlier last year contacting the overseas manufacturers on a few different brands for approval of their 33 and 35" tyres on 8 "rims.
In the words of one asian tyre manufacturer....
Dear Mr.Ryan,
Recording to our R&D's testing report of the sizes 33x12.50 R15 and 35x12.50 R15,
our standard is testing in 10" rims and the fitment for the both sizes is 8.5-11.
Because our testing performance basic on the safety,
so, our testing standard will focus on the speed and durable.
Also it will depends on what kind of the terrain,
we understand the Mickey Thompson Tires and Cooper Tires in the USA has approval on the 33 and 35 in 8"rims.
But we don't know what kind of the testing performance and terrain are they basic on.
If the rims is much more smaller as a 8",
it will affect the side wall change the shape easily.
Because our standard is maintain the safety structural,
so, our R&D will not suggest to use 8" rims on the both sizes.
Please do not be hesitate for any questions.




From my correspondence with a variety of manufacturers, I have the feeling that it costs too much money to do more testing on the tyres to get approved for an 8" rim, when they have only had one request for it from a guy in Australia.
