GQ/MQ engine differences

Post by will off road »

Looking at getting a dual fuel Patrol ute once I sell my car, 97 EL Fairmont Ghia in WA if anyones interested, anyway. I have heard that the 4.2L petrol engines in the GQs produce 125kw and about 280Nm of torque at the flywheel, what power figures do you get from the 4L MQ motors?
Also what other advantages are there in spending the extra money and getting a GQ?

The 4 litre MQ motor had the reputation for good torque ..mate worked for Nissan but ......

The GQ has coils, more comfortable and 'newer' than the MQ. Wider track than the MQ. GQ '88 to '97. MQ could be prone to rust by now and higher mileages.

GQ has the strongest driveline, iv found it really hard to brake anything on mine, i do know that the CVS are weakest in revs,
over all good 4by but if i had the chance ig Go the TD42 instead
