power down

Post by BUSTED100 »

I was just after some advise regards to my 80 saharra 1HD-t, it's always been a bit sluggish off the mark on the road and off road if I stop before going up steps etc its like there is no power. The revs don't go past 1200 and it just sits there.I now have had Injectors replaced, Fuel pump rebuilt. It is all right once on the move but stop and re start and it's all over
It's now better than when I first got the thing but its still sad and to add to the problem I have now put on 35's.

ANY ideas Please?
torque/stall converter???????????????

Have you had the auto serviced recently?

Whats the stall speed of the converter in a 80 auto?/ Maybe when climing you are hitting the stall speed of the converter, and the motor has not got the power to move the car.

check the fluids/oils in the gearbox...an auto that is lacking fluid/oil will act like that.

Filters in the box? I thought they can restrict fluid flow, and impede torque transmission?

Or not.

I would still look at the engine for a solution. Check injector pump timing or even cam timing. A blocked exhaust may cause your simptoms but would also restrict perform higher in the rev range. How is your air filter?
Those who choose to drive in the mud do so because they can't drive the rocks.

Turbo stuffed wouldn't know seems to work
Exhaust 4" dumper into 3 " system (Beaudesert or something)
Engine compression not sure (motor was suposedly rebuilt 50k back)
Fuel filter I change every 2nd oil change
Air filter new
Fuel pump rebuilt by Cooma diesel
