In the process of sourcing a front locker for the zook and was thinking of an Air Locker. Anyone using one at the moment? I know the cost factor in comparison with a Lockrite is a substantial difference, however everyone i talk to tends to have the opinion the the lockrite in the front would be a headache. I was always worried about tearing fittings or lines with the air locker, however when its locked its locked and with the flick of a switch you can steer again, and also i really dig the pffft sound, similar to a blow-off valve. I have just put my air locker from the rear into the front. Only taken it on one outing before getting a canary (whole other story) but was pretty cool to have locked but the ability to unlock was a big bonus especially with the 34s and lots of gearing.
greg has a front air locker and hasn't had any problems i know of, he is also running 34s and a 6:1 tcase. He should chime in pretty soon

Yep, I've got an air locker in the front (and rear) and I love it...
Obviously most of what I love about it is just that it means that both wheels in the front area working full time - but this is a benefit that you will get from any functioning locker i guess...
The air locker comes with the bonus of being able to turn it on and off when you want to (as you already know), which is also good because you can still play on easy stuff with completely open diffs if you want to have some fun, then lock them up for when you hit the hard stuff...
You also get the added 'benefit' of a little air pump for getting those tyres back up to road pressure afterwards... but it does take a fair while to get any air out of it
I've had my air lockers for about a year and a bit now - so far there have been no issues with catching the air lines on any debrey or anything. And you can always zip-tie them onto your breather tubes (which you will of course be wanting to install considering the small fortune you just invested in your diff right?) for a bit of extra support, or go mad and buy the hard lines that are available for them now (i.e. steel braded lines - i think these may only be available in the states though from some other after market company)...
All in all - love the front locker... and because you can turn it on and off - you can also control how hard you are going to be on those weak little cv's of yours too
One thing to note is that they do not just immediately unlock when you turn off the switch - you have have to return the steering to centre again to make that happen so you will occaisionally have to drive straight a bit further than planned to make them open up again - but i'm sure you can live with that.
