How good are auto hubs and how do they work ? Worth getting or not..?

I have to agree with CJ... I don't have any personal experience with the auto hubs, but a fellow in the zook club has them on his vitara estate wagon... The problem that he has is that they un-lock when ever the car rolls backwards on hill starts... so he get's into a situation of stopped in 4wd, then when taking off (i.e. foot off brake onto accelerator), the car rolls back just a touch and that's enough for the front hubs to unlock - the car is then in Rear wheel drive again until he gets the wheels to rotate enough at the front to lock the hubs again...
