Stereo

Post by GURU »

G'day all,

Been looking at fitting my CD head Unit into my 88 model Rangie and have found a problem. The standard stereo is mounted at quite an angle in the middle of the dash. As CD players can't be mounted on more than 30 degrees I can't see it fitting. Is is possible to mount the head Unit in the original spot but at a flatter angle? I don't really want to get a dash pod and mount it up there.

What did other people do to overcome this issue?

No probs with the near vertical angle playing CDs. The head unit even fits fine, though I had to use two 90deg RCA adapters to get the cables to the amp (which lives under passenger seat) to fit.

I had a Pioneer CD player in the usual mounting location in my '86 RR classic for years. Never gave any trouble.
