QUICK!! buckshots or Mudzillas (or nankang mudstars)
Need 2 new tyres, I have a choice between these 3, (buckshots or muzillas) for $175 ea. OR nankangs for $145 but i'm thinkin for $30 extra a tyre i'd go the maxxis cause they seem to be a better known/trusted brand. Any thoughts?? $175 seems nice n cheap for the maxxis

Nah, i think i confused you. I can get Maxxis Buckshots or Mudzilla's for $175, OR Nankang MUDSTARS for $145. So its a 3-way choice atm unless someone suggests something better for around that price again. And i'm leaning away from the mudzilla's now cause in the threads i was searching people were saying they wear really quickly and my tyres will be doing 400ks + a week. Having my AT's on the front for now, with these new 2 on the rear. Currently I have AT;s at rear and crap retreads at the front which are starting to peel away. I'm going to be doing about 1200k's of highway and dirt driving in the next week and I really dont want the retreads to come apart in the middle of nowhere doing 100kph, but I cant afford ~800+ for 4 new tyres, so I'm keeping the A/Ts for the time being, and replacing the other two, which will then be replaced later with the same tyre I buy now. Nothing wrong with having different styles front to back. They are a good tyre but are bias ply and are very noisy on the road.

iv got mudstars and from what iv seen theyre the exact same tyre, so to me, they would be my choice, and are my choice because theyre cheaper.
the mudstars have proven me well, and the go everywhere that everyone in the club and anyone iv been driving with off outers have been. Never done a sidewall and never staked and theyre always on 12 psi when offroad, so the sidewalls are out there to be staked, but never have, had them for about 12 months now, they get driven every single day, and the wear rate i can see is minimal, they came with about 14mm tread, and theyre still about 12mm, road pressure 38psi, never been rotated, all worn evenly. Been a great tyre for me, and as i was at uni when i bought them was after something cheaper than a bfg or mtr. They cost $714 for 4 33x12.5x15 fitted and balanced.

Yeah, after looking around I was going to get the Mudstar, but rang up about 6 different places today and ALL out of stock in my size
. Containers not comming in until the 15th of march and I need em NOW
. So i'm getting Nankang A/T's. Same as I have now on the rear and they are wearing quite nicely. Just wanted to go to MTs as daily's but I guess i'll have to put up with AT's for a bit longer.
Mudstar looks like the lugs are closer together than the buckshots from the pics i've seen, could be wrong though.

I have had both brands on my fourby and i cant notice anything different between them
i have run both down to 16psi and i have never had a puncture. they have the exact same tread pattern. so if your thinking about cost then id go the Mudstars (which i have on mine now)

thats what im trying to figure out. I dont understand the point of paying an extra $30 or $40 or whatever per tyre, when theyre the same tyre...
i ended up with the 33" Mudstars for a really good price, and i give them hell on and off road, and they love it, wearing well, never rotated and no major chunking/slicing, and never done a sidewall. What they are lacking is the sidewall protection/aggresion that an MTR or MTZ have. Very decent tyre for the price.
Id go again next time prob, if i wasnt planning on touring the country for 12 months or so and if i couldnt afford better.
